hello! my national day was quite fun. our class went to sentosa. i now have a red nose!! and it's very itchy. i watched the parade. haha my baby sis kept repeating "i wanna go there now!" when she saw it on tv. i think i've only been for a live national day celebration once. i vaguely remember sitting on concrete steps being fed porridge by my mom.
btw anyone wants to run standard charter? haha

Okay, hi everyone! The last entry posted was all the way in March which is like 2 months ago *wonders if people actually still visit the blog*. Anyway, do you guys still remember Chris? He is the one who went along with us on the sailing segment of the NZ trip and taught us basic navigational skills and how to tie a safety knot (can't remember what it was called... i think it's a bow-line or something like that). He's the one who plonked the bulky life-vest on us and sent us jumping in the the cold waters of the sea too... Ring a bell?

He came to our school on Thursday!!! With his wife... for a visit... they were stopping by in Singapore before heading back to NZ. I don't think he remembered any of us, but for me, it did bring back some of those good ol' memories of the time we spent in NZ...

hi! I'm back from my family trip to M'sia.

somehow, it just struck me that the title of our shared blog is "reminiscing". Perhaps there's nothing unusual about it, but it made me think how, for some of us, we sometimes spend too much time thinking back of the past times. I don't know how to express it, but it's like... Take friendships formed for example. It seems as though it reached its peak during the NZ trip and now, is slowly cooling off (*knocks wood*), and when we recall people, we think in terms of the past -- our interactions during the NZ trip, and not of the present, not of discovering more of them. (bleah, my expression fails me)

anyway, how was the BBQ? sad that I had to miss it. But I'll look forward to the 27 Dec gathering. Let's discuss it over this blog? I think the idea of gift exchange is really quite cool and nice. We should have some games too. I miss the games of Captain's ball we played on the beach. Let's play it there! And we can have some sort of lucky dip or something.

Just a question, though, what time does this gathering end? Thanks, nic, for taking charge. Hopefully everybody can go. :-)

hey ppl I am back again!

Yeah, the upcoming gathering will be held in Rachel's condominum, on the 27th Of December. She lives in maplewoods, which is a 7 mins walk from King Albert Park McDonalds. The event should start at about 5 or 6? somewhere in the early evening. Its a christmas-cum- nz gathering-cum-rach's birthday-cum new year event. Haha. We are basically spending most of our time there barbequeing junk food. Rachel's birthday is on the 28th of December, I guess it will be nice to get a gift too :) after all we are using the facilities in her condo yeah? haha...

i am still considering whether I should incorporate games or activites into the event. I guess it will be best to allow everyone to do whatever they like and roam around. After all, the main purpose of this gathering is to create an opportunity for all of us to chill around, catch up with the old times, as well as curse how shitty life in Singapore is, isn't it? Life would also be easier for me if i do not have to plan anything.. haha :)

Rachel's currently in Australia for summer school, and she will only be back on the 21st of December. As such, I was forced!(haha...jk), to organize and prepare this event, as it will be too late if we start the preparations after she returns to Singapore. Almost three weeks after coming back from New Zealand, I still miss that place a lot! The peaceful, quiet land with the friendly people. Ever since coming back, it seems like everything is so rushed, so routined. For me, it seems like there's no time for you to stop and think or observe what you're doing or where you are - it's just rushing here and there, doing what you're supposed to for the sake of doing it, etc. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but those two weeks in NZ also taught me a lot - not only about NZ (their culture, businesses, etc), but also about myself and others. ^^ Not to mention, we also had loads of fun there! I guess that's why I really would love to go back there and experience the whole thing again! (:

I really agree with what Mich, QT and Nic said in their posts! I hope we all have a gathering soon! (: Though, like what my friend who went to Hainan (her EOY programme with the school), the one gathering will seem really short, compared to the two whole weeks we spent together in NZ.

Anyway, just in case you want to look at them - I've uploaded my pictures here - but they're not very easy/convenient to browse through... I think I'll make a site similar to Webshots displaying the pics under groups, but that'll be next time I got a Webshots account just so it's more convenient for you all to view the pictures.. so you can view the pictures here instead. ^^ Oh, and Mich and I are going to do the NZ site this week (after we've done our *evil* homework!!), I think, so it'll be up soon! It's hard to believe that the days flitted out of sight so quickly. Following chief's entry I've gone and decided to send out invitations to as many people as I could. It's pretty much up to them now, to accept the invitation.

Chief's right. There were many cliques forming. I myself was in one, an extremely small one by the way. Do I regret being so secluded and so shut up in my own world during the trip? Definitely. I guess that's pretty much why I joined the blog so quickly... I think what this blog would help us do is to help everyone stay in touch, and bridge the gap between all those cliques.

Hmm...... it's funny...... after reading what Qintan wrote in her blog and what chief wrote in his blog, I guess it's pretty much the same for most of us? Missing not only new zealand, but everyone involved in the trip. I won't deny this, I missed everyone when we all came back on friday, so when I met Lynn on Sunday in my school's boarding house function room, I couldn't believe my eyes...... it sounds stupid--but I felt like I hadn't seen her for years or something... so we spent the whole time chatting until my mom scolded me for not talking to another friend of mine who was there.

Hmm... I think I will add a tag board for convenience of posting comments or dropping short messages...

I just got back the printouts of the photographs today... It just brings to mind again those memorable 14 days at NZ. And somehow I miss being with you guys more than being in New Zealand. It's a complex feeling. Maybe I should have been more absorbed with the noisy chatter and card games in the bus than in the scenery outside.

Days somehow just seem to have lost its perks and colours, after coming back. All around me, all too often, that lack of many voices bring to my awareness, too acutely, too vividly, the lack of company.

How have all your holidays been? Hope you guys have had fun and have been keeping in touch. I don't think I've been to any gathering so far.

well well lets see..theres still one month of freedom left,:\ one month left
before we get to hell once again..haha..well.i believe all of us would give anything just for an opportunity to fly to nz once again, sigh...but it will never come true.

I have been keeping in contact with lotsa ppl frm the trip, HAVE YOU? haha. As u all have noticed in the trip, all of us do have our own cliques or rather group of friends, such things are inevitable as we have a total of 31 people in our trip. Yup, even for me! I have my own group too, for those are the best group of people who u can get along with ...yup. But I guess it would be nice if we still have occasional functions or events, that involve everyone in the trip...it is impossible to remain close contact with everyone, but it is possible to maintain a basic contact. It would be a pity if this group is just forgotten forever.

1st step.. everyone pls try to send the invitations for this blog to the others in the trip. This way we all have a common medium to interact, yup!

Hey everyone.

As shao mentioned earlier, i opened an account at webshots, but because i don't have money, the account is a basic account and has a limit of 300 pictures per user, so i suggest that EVERYONE get a basic account at webshots on your own and we'll link all the albums together through our nz site which is currently on hiatus.

It's quite simple to get your own account. Just go to www.webshots.com and click sign up. after you've signed up, click "create album". The server will ask you to go check your email and click on a link to verify your account, then you can start uploading your pictures. The limit is 300 photos... but if you're willing to pay for the premium account, you'll get a 3000 photo space limit instead.

The tedious part is uploading your pictures... i know that not everyone is as free and as wu liao as i am but please do try to upload pictures... especially those who have group pictures coz some of us (like me) don't have any group pictures coz we were planning on sharing photos instead... so yeah, please try get an account.

Haha, yeah, everyone really misses NZ! Mich, I'm an escapist too! (guess we all learnt from Ruth? haha.) I really want to go back there (away from the homework!) and experience the whole thing again! Especially the sailing and group work and the partying (haha, mer's birthday bash! =P)!! Oh, and the MSN group thing is a great idea - just that maybe it's not such a good idea if everyone uploads their NZ pics there because that'll be a few hundred pictures? For BSD (sorry to those who don't understand what I'm talking about), I took reallyy long to upload those few pictures that I uploaded on MSNgroups. Which is why I gave up and decided to upload onto 67's domain instead. (: Yeah.

Anyway, just a side note: if it's not too inconvenient, can you guys please get a blogger account and post here under your name or nickname or something? haha... i really miss nz... thinking of setting up a community on msn (to shao: yup, like the one cs did for bsd) then we can share all our pictures and videos and stuff... has anyone already set up one?
